Lead. Achieve.

Whether graduating college, working toward that next job or retraining for that second or third career, I have developed a process that uses no-nonsense techniques to help career planners and job seekers  set themselves up for the best chance to succeed.

Career mentoring provides the methodology and mindset to make smart professional decisions and find your sweet spot – which opportunities exist, what you are good at and love to do and what you want from a job, a career and even, from your life.

Why a Career Coach?

why me

I am a long-time entertainment industry executive,

corporate business leader and entrepreneur and venture capital-private equity fundraiser and have seen thousands of resumes and interviewed hundreds of prospective employees.

As an adjunct professor, I interact daily with students and graduates actively seeking their first, second or third jobs, struggling to pull together resumes and cover letters as well trying to hone their networking and interviewing skills. Academic programs, including Universities, Community Colleges, Certificate Programs and High Schools don't have the resources to teach job prep and search skills.

As a member of the workforce who has reinvented himself numerous times in various industries, I understand how to course-correct into a more fulfilling second or third career and apply acquired skillsets to future opportunities. This confluence of events creates one certainty: the members of the emerging and ongoing workforce do not have the job-search skills to help them find their first or next job and create a strategy for their long-term career goals.

I have relationships in major industries or have connections who can gain access to those industries. I have worked with companies in media, entertainment, social media, visual arts, sports, financial services, health care, agriculture, cybersecurity, aviation, environmental, hospitality to name a few.

I know what companies are looking for.

I will work with you to identify jobs, create a compelling resume and cover letter, strategically apply and help network to the decision-makers to give you the best chance of landing a position.

That’s everyone’s end-game, right?  You’re happy. You refer me. I’m happy. Win-win.

Aaron Farr

Meet Aaron Farr! He is a Production Assistant for Custom Animations at NETFLIX Yup. You read that correctly.  But his first gig out of college was at DREAMWORKS ANIMATION.  Not a bad career thus far.

He’s applied for a hundred jobs. Been close a bunch of times. Picked up some freelance work in-between. Been frustrated, disappointed, doubtful, freaked-out, scared. But he had a strategy, followed a process, kept networking.

You can do this too. Put together a strategy. Follow the process. Stay the course. I am happy to help you.

Mary Claghorn

Meet Mary Claghorn!

Mary's work ethic is unmatched! Her technical skills are top-notch and she just needed help refining her resume and cover letters. She and I spent tons of time on calls, texting and emailing - working to get her application materials looking right.

I dropped a few networking tips on her doorstep and - BOOM! - she was off to the races landing her own clients!

Miya Ingle

Meet Miya Ingle! She is the ON-AIR MORNING REPORTER for 7&4 UpNorthLive News in Traverse City, Michigan.

She's a crazy hard-working 2020 graduate of Indiana University. She gives me a lot of credit, but don't let that undercut the insane amount of work she put in on her end - like how many times she has auditioned, edited her reel, been up all night shooting and editing, covering high-school basket-weaving. She has worked her ass off. And she is good, so awesomely good, at what she does.

Miya, you earned this.
